TERMS, CONDITIONS AND HOUSE RULES
When you (the student) take guitar lessons, coaching, workshops or classes from
Karst van Oosten (the teacher) you agree to the following terms, conditions and house rules :
Cancellation:
Preferably lessons are not cancelled. If you must, please cancel in advance as early as possible. Of course it can happen that a lesson can't take place because of certain circumstances such as illness, vacation and and so on. In such an event, please notify the teacher as early as possible. First we see if the lesson can be rescheduled to a different day or time. If that's not possible then the following rules apply regarding the cancellation of lessons.
Canceling a lesson without being charged is always possible when you cancel a week or more in advance and beside that you can max two times per bundle of 10 lessons cancel a lesson without being charged up to 24 hours in advance. When possible please notify the teacher as early as possible, because then the chances are highest that the teacher can still schedule other students or activities at your time slot. When a lesson is cancellled on time, the lesson
will not be charged.
To avoid misunderstanding it's good to take note that Karst van Oosten's music
lesson practice has no fixed holidays or (summer) breaks, which means that
lessons will always take place on agreed days and times unless they are explicitly
cancelled or rescheduled by either the teacher or the student. So if you go on holiday or aren't able to take lessons or classes be sure to always notify the teacher timely, preferably as early as possible, to avoid being charged for lessons or classes that aren't attended.
House rules regarding regular weekly and biweekly lessons specifically:
Regular lessons are a subscription and therefore automatic renewal applies. Lessons are purchased per bundle of 10, to be paid through a payment request sent through text or email, prior to the first lesson of the bundle, unless explicitly agreed on otherwise.
If you desire an invoice, you can request one. When the last lesson of the current bundle is attended the teacher sends a payment request for the next bundle. When the student wants to stop taking lessons they have to notify the teacher at least two weeks before the last lesson of the bundle, otherwise the student is expected to purchase a new bundle. Once lessons or a bundle are purchased it's not possible to get a refund. It's allowed however to sell or gift remaining lessons to someone else.
When a student agrees taking weekly or biweekly lessons It is expected that they will show up every week or two weeks. Of course every now and then it's possible to cancel or reschedule a lesson when possible. When lessons are cancelled too often, the teacher can decide that the student has to switch to a different bundle, such as one of the irregular lessons bundles that provide more freedom to show up irregularly. That's not super strict and a bit of a grey area, but a rule of thumb is when you regulary cancel more than once a month
When taking regular lessons you are expected to attend a lesson at least once
a month, when you cancel more than a month of lessons in a row
then for those months the student is charged one lesson per month.
House rules regarded the irregular lesson bundles
You can schedule per lesson by contacting the teacher through text or email or at the end of a lesson. This is not a subscription. There's no automatic renewal.
The validity period a bundle of 10 lessons is 12 months, for smaller bundles that's 6 months.
